Clearwater Lodges - situated in the Welgevonden Reserve in the Waterberg region of South Africa, comprises two intimate and luxurious private game lodges. A haven of tranquility where you come face to face with the grandeur of Africa's sights, sounds and scents - restoring and revitalising your inner soul.
Clearwater is a haven for those seeking a quality wildlife experience, a getaway, an inspiring venue for conferences, or the most romantic setting for an intimate wedding. Anne Cointeau-Huchon is the owner and director. Her roots firmly established in France and its wine industry, this dynamic entrepreneur invested in South Africa in 1992 and created the company “La Tour International Investments”. Without giving up her activities in France, she adopted South Africa as her new home and bought a wine farm, Morgenhof, outside Stellenbosch. Shortly thereafter she invested in Welgevonden Private Game Reserve in the picturesque Waterberg area, and so the idea of CLEARWATER LODGES was born.
Madam Cointreau was named one of the world’s 40 leading women entrepreneurs for 2001 by the STAR group. After 9 ½ years of conducting business in South Africa, she was nominated as one of the five finalists for South Africa’s businesswomen of 2002.
Kudu Lodge is set overlooking a vast open area and waterhole with endless mountain views on the horizon.
The abundance of game in front of the lodge provides continual hours of game viewing from the comfort of your room’s deck. Accommodation for a maximum of ten guests is in 5 doubles rooms - including three single units and a family unit (with two bedrooms). All units have a separate bathroom (2 in the case of the family unit), including an outdoor shower. Guests can indulge in the beauty and tranquillity from their own personal deck outside their bedroom.
Whilst both lodges are similar in respect of facilities, number of rooms and room types, they each retain a unique ambience, largely due to their beautiful settings, and the inimitable hospitality and character shared by the staff at each lodge.
