Lajuma Mountain Retreat - Forest Chalet Lajuma Mountain Retreat is situated in the northern part of South Africa high up in the Soutpansberg Mountain Range between Makhado (Louis Trichardt) and Vivo.

The Lajuma region is famous for its breathtaking mountain scenery, pristine wilderness character and close proximity to other tourism destinations.

Lajuma Mountain Retreat provides a unique nature experience through exclusive personal attention. Visitors are welcomed and assisted by the owners, Ian and Retha. They will also provide information on the environment and accompany visitors on specialist walks or other activities if required.

You receive bedding, towels, all cutlery, braai facilities, lighting and wood for a fire. All units have a fridge and a gas stove and are en suite and fully equipped for self catering. Please bring a torch and hard wood for a braai if required. The last seven km up the mountain are not accessible with a standard sedan car.

The Waterfall Lodge consists of two thatched chalets and large enclosed lapa with fireplace situated in a secluded valley overlooking a waterfall. It provides peace and tranquility for real nature lovers who want to be on their own. Not suitable for small children. Access down a long staircase also makes it unsuitable to visitors with walking disabilities. - Tariff: R150 ppn (self catering) with a minimum tariff of R450 per night

The Forest Chalet is nestles against a forest and has a stunning view. It is built in period style with fireplace. Can accommodate two. Suitable for small children. - Tariff: R 200 ppn (self catering)

The Wilderness Camp is situated on a high cliff overlooking a forested valley and rolling mountains. Six separate an-suite units offer basic accommodation for groups of up to 22 people. It has a large lapa with conference and lecture facilities. - Tariff: R 120 ppn (self catering) A lower tariff can be negotiated for large groups.
