International Conference Climate Change

Polokwane, 20-24 October 2008: Adaptation and Mitigation in the South Models and Solutions for Limpopo Province, South Africa

The conference seeks to create a platform for scientists and governance practitioners from all over the world to discuss specific issues around climate change in the context of developing countries.

The science of Climate Change in the South (geographical and political) is expected to receive attention as a basis for informed decision making around strategies for adaptation and mitigation.
 
Concrete plan for Limpopo, based on existing or proposed models could be developed as a result of the interactions.

Papers are invited in the following areas:

• 1. Specific focus on the Science of CC in the South
• 2. Adaptation to CC in the South: particular problems, exciting practices, regional cooperation
• 3. Mitigation of CC in the South: energy efficiency and developing countries
• 4. Climate change and Limpopo Province, SA: science, governance
