African Food Adventure

The African Food Adventure is a  cookery series in which host, Roger, travels through the vibrant backdrop of wild and urban Africa. During the course of this adventure, he learns a variety of ways to prepare game and other rare delicacies of African cuisine.

He even challenges the viewer to try and make some of these ‘unthinkable’ dishes. In each programme, Southern Africa Direct explores the local scenery and adventure activities of the area, as well as preparing a dish endemic to the region, before hearing people’s opinions of the food prepared that day.

Follow the African Food Adventure on Southern Africa Direct and find out that crocodile tastes very much like chicken, that cowheels are much like pork trotters, that ostrich can be enjoyed as biltong, kebabs or is perfect in a stir-fry, that wharthog steak can be delicious, and that worms are considered by many as a delicacy in Southern Africa
