05.01.12Most hotels and overnight establishments in Limpopo were fully booked from the beginning of the holiday season on December 1.
Tom Boya, president of the SA Leisure and Tourism Association, said: “Our overview is good. There was hardly any space available in hotels in major places in the past weeks, but we don’t have figures available now.”
Echoing his comments, Mike Tauatsoala, spokesperson for the Limpopo Tourism Agency, said tourism facilities were full.
“The situation makes us happy. Places such as Bela-Bela Hot Springs, Forever Resorts, Tshipishe and others were hot spots.
“People are starting to check out now because many have to go back to work,” said Tauatsoala.
Figures giving the number of people who stayed in hotels and overnight establishments during the festive season will be released next month.
