01.12.11On the occasion of this festive season, Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) would like to take this opportunity to wish the people of Limpopo and the entire SA all the very best and a prosperous 2012.
The year 2011 was yet another momentous time for the tourism industry. Considering the many tourism events that took place during the year, one of the highlights being the two learners from Emanuel Christian School in Makhado who made us proud by winning the national tourism competition to represent South Africa in France, Monaco in particular. We are encouraged by the signs of growth in our province in the second quarter of 2011, which shows that Limpopo has seen a significant increase in tourism activities.
We take this opportunity to thank all including the tourism stakeholders, the former board and our government for their sterling and unwavering support in our endeavour to position our province as the preferred eco-tourism destination in Southern Africa. It was indeed this support, which provided us with inertia for pushing forward the tourism agenda in our province.
We are also very grateful to the tourism industry and stakeholders for their passion, resilience and vision in their contribution to the industry. The introduction of the new niche tourism products in the province is undoubtedly another boost to the growth potential in the tourism sector. With the new LTA Board just having been inaugurated and inducted, we are even more optimistic that this body will inject growth into the tourism sector of our province.
We also wish to direct our sincere gratitude to all our media stakeholders, especially those in the province for their continued support given to the agency in promoting tourism.
As we prepare to take our festive season break, we in Limpopo Tourism Agency wish to state that this period is about the celebration of goodwill all over the world. We therefore call upon all the people of Limpopo to remember the poor, homeless and the destitute as we celebrate this season. As you take a retreat during this festive season, remember to always take a Sho’t Left to our tourism facilities in the province.
I wish all a very safe, peaceful and tranquil festive season.
