09.04.10The recently launched trails at The Outpost in the Pafuri region of the Kruger National Park and part of the Makuleke concession.
The Makuleke concession rests between the Luvuvhu and Limpopo Rivers, stretching from the KNP Pafuri gate to Crooks’ Corner, an area covering approximately 24 000 hectares. This region possesses some of the most diverse topography and vegetation in the KNP.
The Makuleke area is recognised as one of the two botanical reserves of the Kruger National Park, and as one of the premier birding locations in South Africa with over 400 species of birds having been recorded, including some species unique to this corner of South Africa.
The Kruger National Park is a big five destination and the area is renowned for its large herds of elephant and buffalo as well as its indigenous vegetation such as the baobabs and fever tree forests to mention a few.
The trails are conducted by fully qualified and experienced trails guides who will be able to impart their vast knowledge of the area and its inhabitants making for a truly memorable experience.
