Limpopo Tourism Hosts Awareness And Consultative Roadshows

Limpopo Tourism and Parks  (LTP)  has from the 12th August embarked on  awareness and consultative roadshows to mobilize and gear the industry for the upcoming Tourism Month and Indaba 2011. Addressing the Waterberg Industry  LTP CEO Mr. Robert Tooley  said  “ I have observed that as a Tourism Industry, we are not unified and talking in one voice while we continue to send conflicting messages to trade buyers and tourists hence this consultative process to seek a solution.” The next day, the LTP delegation further proceeded to Vhembe and Mopani Regions with the same purpose.

The Roadshows continue this week with the delegation visiting Capricorn Region on Wednesday  18th August  and Sekhukhune on Friday 20th August  2010.

Limpopo Plays Host To The Annual Tourism Month Celebrations
Polokwane-Limpopo Province will for the second time since 2004 play host to the annual Tourism Month Celebrations in September 2010. It’s all systems go for the upcoming 2010 Tourism Month, and Limpopo will be abuzz with festivities throughout the month of September . The 27th September  each year is celebrated Globally as the World Tourism Day, in South Africa this is a month long celebration aimed at fostering tourism and promoting domestic travel.

Limpopo Province will this year be hosting the World Tourism Celebrations at The Chuene Resort, which happens on a rotational basis amongst all provinces of South Africa.  On the 2nd September 2010 the National Minister for the Department of Tourism, Mr. Martinus Van Schalkwyk will launch the Tourism month to media at Botanical Gardens in Roodepoort, Johannesburg.

Eteya Competition Shortlisted Products Announced
South African Tourism in partnership with LTP has finally announced the shortlisted tourism  products for the highly contested National Award, 

ETEYA ( Emerging Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year Award ) and the shortlisted products from Limpopo in no particular order are:

All the above-mentioned products will undergo training on various aspects of tourism and hospitality as a build up to the announcement of the Provincial winner to be made at the World Tourism Day Celebration at The Chuene Resort.
