10.06.10Phalaborwa, Shonalanga – after a rigorous series of negotiations and meetings Limpopo Wildlife Resorts (LWR), the commercial wing of Limpopo Tourism and Parks (LTP), will be hosting a delegation of over 280 Dutch Fans starting from the 9th June 2010 at the recently revamped Shonalanga Resort in Phalaborwa, Limpopo for the upcoming 2010 Soccer World Cup.
The arrival of the Dutch fans, happens when LTP and the rest of the country will be celebrating the Vuvuzela moment, which is an initiative to bring South Africa to a standstill, for the world to notice South Africa’s pride, our heritage!! At exactly 12 Oclock, for 5 minutes, LTP will join all South Africans to blow Vuvuzelas in celebration of FIFA World Cup with only one day to the kick-off.
Shonalanga is an outdoor camping Resort with excursion activities such as Game drive at Kruger National Park, Big Screen for all the Soccer World Cup Matches, Village Tours, swimming pool Mine Tour, Game Walk to mention but a few.
“We are expecting the first batch of fans to arrive this afternoon and the rest should arrive tomorrow during the course of the day. The delegation we are to host is more of your outdoor and adventure tourists, hence Shonalanga being their preferred choice,” said LTP CEO Mr. Robert Tooley.
LWR will also be rendering hospitality services at the recently launched African Cultural Village, where various some African countries will be exhibiting their country’s offerings, attractions, traditional garments, entertainment and cuisines.
This is a Limpopo Provincial Government initiative led by the Office of the Premier. Confirmed participating countries include South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Swaziland, Ethiopia.
