18.01.12The 16th of January marked the first leg of product audit implementation phase with a workshop that was held at Mphephu Resort, where LTA joined with LEDET, Vhembe district municipalities and other strategic partners to discuss the plans and the way forward for product audit, which will take place in the Vhembe region from the 23-27 January 2011.
“The product audit will research and produce a comprehensive audit of all tourism products and assets within Limpopo Province including a review of existing research to identify gaps and opportunities in the current product offering. The audit will help officials in tourism to provide firsthand and reliable information to tourists. The initiative will also benefit tourists as they will receive relevant and adequate information and service”, said the CEO of LTA, Mr. Rob Tooley.
The product audit will address the supply and demand side in the tourism sector.
A tourist survey will soon be available on the website for more information. The focus will be on nature conservations, cultural and historical (e.g. Places of interest), Mice (retailers) and accommodation.
Data capturing of information concluded from the product audit will take place from 13- 24 February 2011. All the regions in the province will be audited and at the end of the process, a provincial database will be compiled as required by the National Tourism Bill.
