17.06.10As a lot rests on the big game today between Mexico and France in Polokwane, for South Africa’s future in the World Cup, Mashovhela Lodge just north of Polokwane welcome the Mexican fans.
Apart from not being used to the cold of “sunny South Africa” they are in high spirits and were anguished in Bafana Bafana’s defeat last night in the hands of Uruguay as they probably feel it would be an easier road forward for their team if the latter was knocked out or just in sympathy for the Lodge’s staff.
Next week, Monday sees Argentineans taking over Mashovhela Lodge in anticipation of their team’s group game against Greece.
Fans staying at Mashovhela Lodge are not only in striking distance to the football matches, but having the Lodge recently being awarded The Welcome Award by South African Tourism for Best Lodge they are being well looked after.
Mashovhela Lodge will also be taking their guests on a day tour into Venda, so that they can experience some authentic South African culture.
Peter Morrison, Marketing Manager for Mashovhela Lodge says “It is wonderful having the supporters visiting our lodge. We are just sorry we aren’t getting any fans from either New Zealand or Paraguay for the match on the 24th June.”
So far we have been lucky that the lodge has been booked out by one group of supporters only. Being a small lodge it could get tricky if we had fans from opposing teams” adds Morrison
For all fans wanting to experience this country between games, Mashovhela is running an incredible specials until the end of July.
