Polokwane sends delegation to Berlin

In an effort to continue to market Polokwane as a host city for the 2010 World Cup and beyond, a delegation from the Municipality will be sent to 2 international exhibitions as points at which the City may adequately market itself to potential interest. The International Tourism Bourse (ITB) and the TUR will be held in Germany and Sweden respectively during the month of March 2009.

A delegation from the Municipality’s 2010 Unit will take part in both events to market and generate exposure for the city as well as promote investment that would benefit the city.

The City of Polokwane will conduct exhibitions at both the ITB and the TUR TO ensure maximum visibility to all visitors with a special interest in South Africa.

It is predicted that this interest will be substantially increased due to the proximity of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and that Polokwane as one of the host cities will enjoy high visitation rates.

This will also raise the profile of Polokwane as a 2010 host City and increase the interest of the Limpopo Province as a tourist destination during and beyond 2010.
