Saving The Best 'Till Last

GOLF fanatic Bertus de Klerk has travelled the length and breath of South Africa to play every one of the country's 477 courses.

He's teed off and played lob sots everywhere from Leopard Park to Leeudoringstad. He's partnered Gary Player and played more than three courses in one day in his quest to find South Africa['s most rewarding golf course. Bust even he admits he saved the best 'till last when gi took on the challenge of the world's most innovative project, Legend
Golf & Safari Resort's 18-hole championship Signature Course.

"it was one of teh heghlights of my life to play the Signature Course," he said. "This is a special course because you learn something about each and every professional's personality and the way they play their game when you play the course.

Eighteen of the planet's great golfers came together to create Africa's newest golf course in teh Signature Course. Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia and Retief Goosen are just some of the golfing legends who have put their name to this truly unique project.

"I am thrilled that Legend Golf & Safari Resort's Signature Course was my last course in South Africa, "said Bertus. "I will definitely come back and play it again and again.

"Like any other amateur golfer I am looking at teh course's aesthetics; the layout; information and playability,"said Bertus. "These all make for a pleasant experience and nice greens is a must. A friendly scorecard; neat locker room and a bar with a good view alnd atmosphere create a feeling that one wants to return to Bryanston probably has the trickest greens because it is so fast it is hard to keep the ball on the green. But every course tells a story and leaves one with something to remember."

Of course no golfer's visit to the award-winning resort is complete without experiencing the world famous Extreme 19th. "The Extreme 19th is like no other golf hole I have played, "said Bertus. "to make a par with one of the balls was extra special.

"It's incredible to think that this is only a two-hour drive from Pretoria, yet the resort is out of this world."
