LTA Fully Geared For The Festive Influx

November 4, 2012

Limpopo, Polokwane: The Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) launched the 2012 Festive Campaign on November 5th. The campaign was staged under the theme “My Limpopo Story” with the tour to give personalities like media representatives and celebrities an opportunity to experience the Province and tell their own stories about Limpopo, its attractions and offerings.

Our statistics showed us that a large percentage of people who flock into our Province during the festive period are Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR). Our objective was to entice them into touring the Province while they were here and also to position Limpopo as a preferred leisure destination for the festive season.

LTA conducted a tour with a number of well-known personalities to showcase and position Limpopo as an ideal leisure holiday destination of choice. “We are of the view that these are influential people within their own rights and circles which they socialize and work, by inviting them to such tours they will become the best pilots to drive the message about their experiences of Limpopo to the various people within these circles and encourage them to experience Limpopo, so they too can have their own story to tell,” said LTA CEO, Mr. Nocks Seabi.

The tour took these personalities on the Luvuvhu 4X4 trail which departs from Phalaborwa, covering the Letaba Ranch before heading north in the beautiful Makuya Park. Those who have been on this tour said that there was no other multi-day 4X4 trip in South Africa where you could see more game, beautiful scenery and adventure. We were therefore putting everyone to a test, to explore the province and to share their story, the “My Limpopo story”.

Mr. Seabi went on to say, “ We would also like to appeal to citizens and public services sector to exercise patience while servicing  all citizens and potential tourists with a smile, while rendering World Class services to them, also Assist those who may be in need of directions or any other assistance”.

In our effort to improve communications with our stakeholders, the newly appointed CEO, Mr. Nocks Seabi, hit the ground running in ensuring that the Agency has a better reach and direct voice with the Industry. The Agency is currently putting together finishing touches to the much anticipated Industry Trade E-Newsletter which will publish its inaugural issue just in time before the Festive Season kicks off.

The Agency will use social media (Facebook, twitter and YouTube) to get tourists and citizens to tell us more about their Limpopo story.  Follow us! tag us! tweet us! and upload your Limpopo stories to the following pages:
