Situated in the heart of the Waterberg, approximately 50 km to the south of Lephalale, this massive dam (145 million m3) is well-suited for water sports enthusiasts, campers and day visitors.

This scenic nature and game reserve on the foothills of the Venda mountains are characterised by varied landscapes and rich diversity of animals.
The landscapes include umbrella thorn savannah, mopani patches and dense bushveld towards the mountains. The spectacular Tshihovhohovho Falls and the massive Nwanedi Dam are the scenic highlights of the reserve. Antelopes, giraffe, white rhino and the occasional leopard can be seen.
Situated a few kilometres north of Phalaborwa, Letaba Ranch covers just over 42.000 ha. Incorporated into the Greater Kruger National Park Conservation Area, Letaba Ranch is well known for its large herds of elephants and buffaloes.
Here travellers can also view hippos and crocodiles on the banks of the mighty Letaba River.
The African Ivory Route tented bush camp Mtomeni is on Letaba Ranch, but the game reserve is also open to day visitors for game drives in open vehicles. The gates are open daily from 6:00 to 18:00.
Just about 6 km from Giyani lies Man’Ombe, covering 1.352 hectares. The reserve has three excellent hiking trails and visitors can visit the museum at their leisure.
Game viewing is good; species include giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, kudu and impala. Take a break to do some fishing at Nsami Dam.

The dam (157 million m3, surface area 12 km2) is situated 10 km north-west of Tzaneen, only an hour's drive from the Kruger National Park. This wilderness area incorporates the dam basin and a peninsula of the dam. It has angling and fishing opportunities. Enjoy the presence of hippos while having your picnic.
Tzaneen dam lies in good birding area with more than 350 bird species. Stay overnight at a picnic site or a caravan park, and nature will treat you to magnificent copper bronze skies at sunset.
Andover Nature Reserve is a Limpopo provincial nature reserve, located 7 km from the Orpen Gate to the Kruger National Park. It is 7.000 ha in extent, and is close to Manyeleti Nature Reserve. It was proclaimed in the 1980s. Visitors to the reserve can see rhino and buffalo, as well as many of the other plains game, such as zebra, giraffe, kudu, bushbuck and other smaller antelope.
