Blouberg Municipality is a mountainous area located within the Capricorn District in Limpopo Province. It covers an area of approximately 5054 km2. The area is situated about 95km from Polokwane with a population estimated at 161.322 inhabitants. The geographical location of Blouberg between the Waterberg wetlands and the Dongola Trans-frontier Park, which encompasses the Mapungubwe area, is of great significance as the provincial Tourism directorate along the African Ivory route identifies this area. Agriculture is one of the cornerstones of the economy in Blouberg. The Marula tree is found in abundance in the area. Its fruits are used to make traditional Marula beer and the world famous Amarula Cream Liquor.
