Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba, will lead a team of communicators and media personalities on an 8km walk at Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve, situated within the Maruleng Local Municipality, Mopani District. The Premier will be joined by MEC for Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET), Mr Tshitereke Matibe, as they continue to promote #TourismThursdays.
Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve spans an expansive 18,718-hectare mountain wilderness, renowned for its stunning escarpments, scenic landscapes, diverse mountain vegetation, and rich wildlife. This breathtaking natural haven features rolling grassy hills, lush kloofs, and dense indigenous forests, offering visitors an unforgettable experience. With its vibrant butterfly swarms, intricate spider webs, and abundant birdlife, Lekgalameetse has become a beloved destination for hiking enthusiasts and birdwatchers alike.
This visit forms part of the “Tourism Thursday” initiative, a campaign launched by Premier Ramathuba in August 2024 at Fumani Lodge, aimed at promoting Limpopo’s rich tourism potential. The Premier has called on all departments and municipalities to actively support and enhance the “#TourismThursdays” campaign, further showcasing the province’s unique destinations.
