Limpopo Province; Polokwane: The Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) is pleased to affirm that Limpopo province remains a safe and hospitable tourism destination for all travellers. This year’s Easter period saw a remarkable influx of visitors from across the country, with tens of thousands of people journeying to Limpopo to reunite with loved ones, attend church gatherings – most notably the Moria pilgrimage – and explore our rich cultural and natural attractions.
We are proud to report that the 2025 Easter holidays concluded without any reported fatalities within the province during the peak travel season. This encouraging outcome highlights the effectiveness of coordinated efforts between the Limpopo provincial government, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and community stakeholders.
The Board Chairperson of Limpopo Tourism Agency, Mr. Andrew Dipela, said “We acknowledge the recent release of national Easter road statistics by the Minister of Transport, Ms. Barbara Greecy, which further reflects a positive trend in road safety across the country, including Limpopo. The decline in accident rates underscores our province’s commitment to ensuring safe travel for all visitors,
“Each year, our province becomes a hub of spiritual, cultural, and social gatherings, with travellers not only attending the pilgrimage but also visiting friends and relatives, and tourist attractions across the province. We are proud to report that, according to statistics released by the Minister of Transport, Limpopo recorded no fatalities directly linked to the Easter pilgrimage traffic”.
Dipela further said, “We remain committed to promoting Limpopo as a top-tier travel destination that offers not only breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, but also a safe and secure environment for all”.
