LIMPOPO TOURISM AGENCY BOARD APPOINTS MR. MOSES NGOBENI AS THE ACTING CEO

LIMPOPO; POLOKWANE: The Limpopo Tourism Agency Board has in its Board meeting of the 29 th July 2021, resolved to appoint Mr. Moses Ngobeni as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Agency for a period not more than six months. This comes after the resignation of the Agency’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ndavhe Ramakuela.

Mr. Moss Ngobeni is not a newcomer in the tourism circles as he was the first Head of Marketing of the former Norther Province’s Tourism and Parks Board in 1994 in the advent of democracy until 2004. He continued to serve in the same position after the province changed the name to Limpopo under Limpopo Tourism and Parks Board, where he would at times also act as the Chief Executive Officer. In 2004, he returned to the Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism as a Senior Manager in the tourism wing, from which he was seconded to assist in the establishment of Limpopo Tourism and Parks Board then.

Mr. Ngobeni will be known for several programmes in the department such as managing, Limpopo Marula Festival, one of the major flagship events of the province. He continues to lead major programmes even amidst the outbreak of Covid-19 such as recovery plan to assist the tourism sector to be back on its feet again.

The Board Chairperson, Mr. Andrew Dipela, is optimistic that the inclusion of Mr. Ngobeni in the Executive Management as the Acting CEO will go a long way in bringing stability in the Agency. “We are excited to have agreed with Mr. Ngobeni to help stabilize the Agency until the process of reconfiguration of state-owned agencies is completed. Mr. Ngobeni brings with him an impeccable experience to the Agency which will help us promote the province better and efficiently”, said Dipela.
