LTA CONGRATULATES LIMPOPO-BASED BETWAY PREMIERSHIP CLUBS FOR SUCCESSFULLY RETAINING THEIR STATUS IN THE ELITE LEAGUE
LIMPOPO PROVINCE; POLOKWANE: Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) wishes to congratulate the three Limpopo-based Betway Premiership clubs, namely Magesi, Polokwane City and Sekhukhune, for successfully retaining their status in the elite league of the country. This follows the conclusion of the Betway Premiership league fixtures on Wednesday the 28th May 2025 with the last game of the season involving Orlando Pirates FC and Magesi FC at Orlando stadium at 19:30.
“Heartwarming is the fact that two of the three provincial clubs, that is, Sekhukhune United FC and Polokwane City FC performed so well to claim spots in the top 8 at position 4 and 7 respectively on the Betway Premiership league log. We are grateful for these achievements by individual clubs. To this, end we wish to heartily congratulate them for their hard work to have ended within the top eight clubs of the most competitive league in the continent”, said the LTA Chief Executive Officer, M. Moses Ngobeni.
League contest is like a marathon race that takes a lot of patient and consistent performance by the club and commitment from the players. Magesi FC’s tale is a very inspiring one as the club finished several months and weeks languishing at the bottom of the log after winning the 2024 Carling Black Label Cup. The club left many with their tongues wagging when they started gathering points after the acquisition of the services of Mr. Owen Da Gama as the head coach. The agency congratulates the club for pitting a good fight to see themselves finishing safely on the log at number 12 after the last game.
The Agency is looking forward to resuscitating the relationship and partnership with the clubs going into the new Betway Premiership season, 2025/26. It is the agency’s hope that the clubs will continue the same winning trajectory getting into the new season. Best wishes for Polokwane City FC and Sekhukhune United FC in their preparations and quest for the Top 8 honours.
