Limpopo Province; Polokwane: Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) wishes to congratulate the Limpopo Department of Education and the 2024 class of Grade 12 for a huge improvement on an historic pass rate registered in the 2024 results. The provincial results were announced by the MEC for education in the province, Ms. Mavhungu Leruli-Ramakhanya yesterday the 14th January 2025. On the 13th January 2025, the Minister of Basic Education, Ms Siviwe Gwarube, announced the National Senior Certificate (NSC) results with a record-breaking pass of 87.3%, the best in the history of the education system of South Africa.
According to the National Development Plan (NDP) The South African education system needs urgent action. Building national capabilities requires quality early childhood development, basic education, further and higher education as building blocks towards a truly functional and improved performance of the education system by 2030. LTA also congratulates all educators for their resilience and dedication to contribute to the improvement of the 2024 results. To sustain this achievement and maintain the momentum, communities need to join hands with schools (educators and learners) from the beginning of the year.
“The tourism fraternity is very excited about the quality of the results as this will also benefit the sector with some students choosing to follow their studies in tourism. We are confident that some who get absorbed in the in the tourism sector, will bring with them new skills and innovations to improve the sector, which is critical to grow the province’s economy”, said Mr. Moses Ngobeni, Chief Executive Officer of LTA.
