LTA UTILISES ITS ACTIVATION TO EXPOSE THE MEDIA TO ITS EASTER CAMPAIGN

LIMPOPO; POLOKWANE: Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA), is excited to expose the to some hidden gems in the province. The Agency launched the Easter Campaign on the 14th February 2024 at Coro Creek Bushveld Golf Estate in the small town of Modimolle in the Waterberg District. The LTA Boards Chairperson, Mr. Andrew Dipela on the day, emphasized that that the agency should expose this year and unveil key tourism projects that respond to the issues of unemployment in the province.

The “Sho’t Left” platform should be one of the instruments to be used to drive trade deals to be redeemed later in the year. This platform is among the most funded, advertising wise campaigns at South African Tourism, but Limpopo always has the least number of deals on the platform and that is is a cause for concern. “We will need to improve on this to be able to penetrate the market, especially the visiting friends and relatives (VFRs), said Dipela.

LTA has decided to take its Easter Campaign activation to one of the forty-three (43) state-owned reserves, the amazing Wolkberg Wilderness Nature Reserve, from the 21st to 22nd March 2024. The reserve is a 22 000ha playground for all manners of adventures. Whether you are into a ground hard hike, through steep gorges and along ancient cliffs, or just a gentle day picnicking, and ambling alongside a rushing river, the Wolkberg Wilderness area is just a perfectly quiet and immaculate escape. This Limpopo reserve is much admired by local hikers, climbers, walkers and wanderers, thanks to its variety of trails and diverse habitat.

While there are marked trails, one can walk anywhere one wishes to, exploring dramatic gorges and cliffs, thickly forested ravines and wide-open grasslands. The Wolkberg is the last and northmost stand of the majestic Drakensberg Mountain range and was proclaimed in part because of its endemic species. Part of its appeal is its accessibility. The pretty town of Haenertsburg is just 14km away. As you come to this beautiful venue, you are advised not to leave home without your swimming costume. The ‘cloudy mountains’ as the place is known, boasts many a clear stream, refreshing waterfalls and potholed pools.

The media personalities will also be spoiled for choice as they will be exposed to yet another gem at Magoebaskloof adventures with activities such as, water tubing, ziplining and up sailing. The stakeholders will do some activities at the newly opened Noko Resort in Mankweng area not far from the University of Limpopo and the most famous church in the country, Zion Christian Church (ZCC) at Moria Zion City. The activation will not be complete without media stakeholders and participants being given the village and township experience in and around Mankweng area.

This will be used as an opportunity to make known the new Mawetse Camp for adventure fanatics in the Wolkberg Wilderness Nature Reserve to ensure that Limpopo stays top of mind to visitors as a destination unlike any other in the country.

Limpopo has so much more to enjoy.
