LIMPOPO PROVINCE; POLOKWANE: Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) looks to use the 29 th edition of the Annual Hanglip Golf Day currently underway at the pristine Soutspanberg Golf Club from 7 – 9 July 2022, to enhance golf and sport tourism visitors’ experience in the town of Louis Trichardt, Vhembe region.
LTA will have an activation at the halfway house and dissemination of tourism related information to showcase the diverse tourism offerings of the town, the region, and our province to the 128 golfers who come from various parts of the country with most of them coming from North-West, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Western Cape, Free State, which are
Limpopo’s source markets for domestic tourism.
“Sports tourism remains high on the LTA’s agenda. As a destination we will continue to use events such as Limpopo Championship and regional tournaments such as the Hanglip 64 Golf Day to drive numbers to the province and increase domestic tourism trips”, said Mr. Moses Ngobeni, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Limpopo Tourism Agency
“Furthermore”, he said, “the activation will be used to persuade the golfers and visitors to extend their stay by taking advantage of the current winter specials in the town of Makhado and Vhembe Region as a whole, whilst this will also position the region as an ideal summer breakaway destination”, concluded Ngobeni.
The entity is currently in talks with various stakeholders about other great sports tourism initiatives, which will commence soon to increase domestic trips.
