Limpopo Tourism Agency and Limpopo Economic Development Agency Signed a Strategic MOU for Trade and Investment Promotion

Polokwane, Limpopo — In a major step towards the implementation of the EXCO Decision for the movement of the Marketing function out of LEDA and departmental sectors to Limpopo Tourism Agency, the Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) and the Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA) signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Tuesday, 23 September 2025, at the One -Stop – Shop Auditorium in Polokwane.

This partnership comes at a pivotal moment as LTA adopted its new expanded mandate incorporating trade and Investment promotion alongside its core focus on tourism marketing. The MOU is designed to strengthen inter agency collaboration to attract investment, boost local trade, and position Limpopo as a leading destination for tourism, investment and business trade including export.

“This MOU represents a shared commitment to reposition Limpopo as a globally competitive region for trade, investment, and tourism,” said Mr Moses Ngobeni, CEO of Limpopo Tourism Agency. “By aligning our efforts with LEDA, we will unlock new opportunities for inclusive economic growth.”

The signing also comes just a month ahead of the Limpopo Investment Conference, set to take place on the 30–31 October 2025 where the province will showcase its investment ready sectors to domestic and international stakeholders. The collaboration between LTA and LEDA will ensure stronger alignment in promoting the province’s economic potential ahead of this flagship event.

“Our partnership with LTA will enhance how we market the province’s investment opportunities, especially in the lead-up to the Investment Conference,” said  Ms Lutendo Mavusha Acting Group CEO for LEDA. “Tourism, investment and trade promotions go hand-in-hand in building a thriving, inclusive economy.”

Through the MOU, both agencies commit to joint marketing initiatives, trade and tourism missions, co hosted events, and coordinated efforts to promote Limpopo’s key economic sectors  from tourism and agriculture to manufacturing, mining, and cultural industries.
