Limpopo Province; Polokwane: The Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) is proud to have supported the prestigious 3-day Hanglip54 Golf Tournament, held from 10–12 July 2025 at the scenic Soutpansberg Golf Club in Makhado. The tournament brought together passionate golfers, tourism stakeholders, and spectators for an unforgettable showcase of sport, community spirit, and tourism potential.
In his words of support delivered during the closing ceremony, LTA Board Chairperson, Mr. Andrew Dipela, expressed deep appreciation for all participants, stakeholders, and visitors who contributed to the success of the event.
“Your presence here is greatly appreciated, because through your presence, those who are involved in the tourism industry and their ventures – whether in accommodation, retail, restaurants or local services – were able to benefit economically. Thank you again for being here. To the winners, thank you for displaying great sportsmanship,” said Mr. Dipela.
The tournament not only promoted social cohesion but also highlighted Makhado municipal area as a desirable winter-summer destination. Attendees enjoyed warm hospitality and the unique climate of the region, which allowed for both leisurely enjoyment and competitive sports.
“It was a beautiful three days where you enjoyed winter and summer in Makhado Municipal a. This is what our province offers – a blend of seasons and experiences. We thank the organisers, volunteers, and everyone who worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success,” he added.
The Hanglip54 Golf Tournament also served as a platform to strengthen collaborations within the tourism and sports sectors, aligning with LTA’s strategic goal to position Limpopo as a leading destination for sports tourism.
As the event concluded, Limpopo once again demonstrated that it is more than just a destination – it is an experience.
